The Pakenham Racing Club has been announced as the winner of the Centrebet Victorian Country Club of the Year at the 2011/2012 Centrebet Country Victorian Racing Awards held at Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre South Wharf. The Pakenham Racing Club edged out fellow finalists the Echuca Racing Club, Cranbourne Turf Club, Geelong Racing Club, Warrnambool Racing Club and the Swan Hill Jockey Club to win the prestigious award.
Pakenham Racing CEO Michael Hodge said “the Club has had a great season across all areas of the business including racing, entertainment and gaming. This has all been achieved while planning our move to Tynong which will provide the industry with a world class racing & training precinct with a Stage investment of $60 million funded and managed by the Pakenham Racing Club team”.
Country Racing Victoria Chief Executive Officer Scott Whiteman congratulated the Pakenham Racing Club on winning this year’s award.
“Once again country racing in Victoria had an extremely successful season, crowds are continuing to grow at our feature events all over the state and more and more people are discovering the Great Day Out experience,” Whiteman said.
“It is a credit to the Club management and committee that the Pakenham Racing Club has become a benchmark of country racing clubs in Victoria. Everybody involved in the Pakenham Racing Club deserves the utmost credit for winning this award.” |
